A classic text is, a story that is from older times & its usually trying to teach a lesson. Like for example, Beauty and the Beast shows that its only on the inside that matters. Although thats a great story, someone wrote it quite awhile ago, & when disney found it they thought it was a good lesson to teach so they made it into a book & into a movie.

What is a classic text? Well from what have read a classic text is timely, meaning it could have been wriittin 100 years ago or a year ago. "Classics are also themes that can deal with differnt time periods". Another type of evidence is"a classic will be around forever because of its literary values". Do you know any classic books? Do you now understand what a classic is? What books do you think will become a classic?

Classics are stories that tell you about history.
"Classics deal with themes that touch all periods of time, all societies, and cultures"
Like in the Oliver Twist it revealed that homeless children's life in England was difficult.
Many classics have when a hero overcomes an obstacle that is preventing them from reaching there goals.
Some of the classics are fiction but they still give off real facts.

What I see from this story is that the definition is similar to mark twains "something that everybody to have read but nobody wants to read."
I think the definition is a classic text that ties well with the time the setting took place in and is talked a bout for many years. What do you think the definition is?

A classic text is a story from earlier times, and has something to teach you for example, Cinderella was a messy slave girl with pretty sisters and rich family but when the prince wanted her it showed that beauty on the inside is better than on the out.

A classic story is according to the article "a classic connects authors and times, and discover influences from other writers and other great workds of literature". Also "a classic both expresses the period, and style, and the struggles of the time.". What this means is that a classic story isnt a story told by great people, or by exellent authors, or said its a classic story because the author says it is, it is a story that connects the writer to different times in there life. Such as the period the style and the struggles of the time. If you had to write a classic story wht would it be about? And how dose that effect your life?

A classic text is a real story that relates to the past. It includes good vs. bad, love, forgiveness, success, and personal values. It shows truth, honesty, and tells a true story. It's old and has been around for a while. It includes a message or theme. And classics may be used for studying. For example the pearl is a classic. Beauty and the beast is a classic and most Disney movies are too. "Classics deal with themes that touch all periods of history" Can you think of any examples of a Classic text?

Well according to the article a classic is related to a book that is old but, every one knows what the book is about. Mark Twain defined it as " something that everyone wants to have read and nobody wants to read". A classic is timely, it expresses the times in which it was written.

A classic text is a story that connects with everyone no matter what time period it was created. A classic also shows some very clever way of writing that isn't always done by other authors. An example of classic would be pocahontas in that story it shows common characteristics of what a good classic is for example it deals with a certain time period, timeless story, it has themes. Think of your favorite folktale does it fit the characteristics of a classic?
