"There is a devil in this pearl"(20). I picked this because Kino stabbed somebody during a fight and earlier in the book he was a nice kid. The pearl has changed his whole life now his houses are burning down because people are looking for him.
What do you think Kino will do next???

"He heard the rush, got his knife out and lunged at one dark figureand felt his knife go home, and then he was swept to his knees andswept again to the ground." The pearl has changed kino drastically because he used to be a nice humble family man but now he's has murdered someone and beat his wife just to protect the pearl and from what he understands the pearl is hardly as valuable as he thought. It think the rage of everything with this pearl is finally catching up to him and something's going to happen that causes him to realize how bad this pearl is and he'll throw it away. When it comes to money I think some people will do anything to protect it but forget about the people that they used to care about. How do you think the pearl changed kino?

Kino has changed since he's had the Pearl. He used to be a really happy guy who always was with his family and helping. Money changes people. It doesn't make him happy. I've heard a lot of story's or myths about people who have won the lottery or just simply have a lot of money. They're all about something bad happening to the rich person such as them spending all of it then being broke. Or getting cancer and just bad things happening to them. I've never heard of the stories were true or not. But what do you think? Does money change people?

kino has valued the pearl to much he said if I lose this pearl I have lost my soul. Someone tried stealing it and he ended up killing the guy. Juana was trying to throw it and kino hurt her

How is Kino's character and values changing? How do money and possessions change people?
"Kino had lost his old world and he must clamber on to a new one" (53)
"'This pearl has become my soul' said Kino" (67)
In chapter 4 Kino was hit /stabbed by the evil, witch I think has a very important meaning in the book because he was being so over obsessed with the pearl of the world. Money possessions change people by wanting more and more, then destroying himself, his family, and people.

In the book their is a quote that says "there is a devil In the pearl."(20) I picked this sentence because it shows that the pearl is a bad thing and that it can bring out the devil in people. For example when kino didn't have the pearl is was a nice guy and felt he had what he needed, but now with the pearl he's being selfish and cocky with it and not a nice guy anymore. My question is would he have stayed his old self if he didn't get the pearl or would he have changed to a mean guy even without the pearl?

kinos charachter & personality are changing greatly because, the pearl he is trying to keep safe is affecting his whole family not just him. He recently had to kill someone for the pearl because they broke into the hut to try & take the pearl. I think it is changing Kino as a person because he wants his son to have a good education so he can grow up & educate his parents & they will live a good life. Its also affecting Juana his wife, she was recently holding the pearl in her hand and a man came up to her grabbed the pearl out of her hand, pushed her in thr rocks & kicked her in the side.

Kino's character is turning meaner then in the beging be out now he killed a man over the pearl and he hurt Juana . I think money changes people by making them Think they got more power also money changes people by making them greedy and it makes them think that all they need is money and they need to protect it

Kinos chacter in character in the book The Pearl changes over time the way he thinks of people when he starts to think of people, this very much refers to the real modern day world that people who do have money look down and do not pitty others. Money changes the way you think of you're friends, family, and the community that if they are not as wealthy as you, you look down on them. How do you think money changes people? And why does it change people?
