A symbol that is emerging is the pearl because it is symbolizing fortune because Kino and Juana have great fortune now that they have found the pearl. But the pearl could also symbolize greed because in the book Kino talks about all this stuff that he is going to buy with that money. What symbol do you think is emerging in this book so far?

The Pearl also symbolizes evil according to Juana, but money does come with greed. Sad but true accusation.

A symbol I found emerging was ' it washed in a foaming wave into the town of stone and plaster.' Because when they say a foaming wave it means the rumor was flowing threw the entire town that kino had found a pearlhat would cost hundreds. Other than ' a foaming wave' meaning a rumor or something spreading, what else do you think it can mean?

Activity 13: Chapter 3 Symbol thoughts. Post
The symbols I chose for chapter three were a hole in the ground, which symbolizes disguise, Medicine which symbolizes healing, and lastly the doctor which symbolizes evil, and betrayal. These symbols relate to the las two chapters. Because kino and Juana both knew that Coyotito needed medicine to heal. Also the doctor was bad because he wouldn't help because kinda didn't have much money.

Some symbols that have emerged from the story would be things like Kinos Pearl of the world and Coyoito. These symbols relate to the essential questions of the story like "What is happiness?" this question ties to the Pearl because the Pearl can lead to happiness it can buy the things that would undoubtedly improve Kinos life like clothing, tools, an education, etc therefore leading to happiness. The second essential question can be easier asked than the answer understood but I'd like to say Coyoito would represent the answer because when we look at difficult texts like the Pearl we need to the meaning and the reasoning behind a characters goal. Kinos goal is to help cure his son and save his people and Coyoito Cana be the gateway to this goal now that he has the Pearl. Do you think these really tie back to the two questions?

There is one symbol that they talk about a lot that is emerging. I think Kino and him finding the pearl is emerging because he is someone that the whole town is talking about. "And then the chorus of the neighbors broke in. "He has found the Pearl of the World," they cried, and they joined forefinger with thumb to show how great the pearl was. "Kino will be a rich man, " they clamored. "It is a pearl such as one has never seen." I think this sentence shows how Kino is emerging because it shows you that the town knew about the pearl and they were telling the doctor. What symbol do you think is emerging?

A lot is emmerging in this story at the moment but the main 2 are when Kino finds the pearl and almost goes crazy because of all the riches he will "soon have" like when he thinks of buying a new spear and a new rifle and etc. Also it makes other people go crazy for it when someone trys stealing the pearl from Kino. Would you go crazy if you had loads of money?

I think a symbol that is coming up is the pearl! It symbolizes greed! In the book kino is so greedy that he stabs something! Junna says to kino this " get rid of it kino it will destroy us"! She knows that it makes people greedy! What is the pearl in your life? What's the thing that makes you greedy? Mine is my iPod! My iPod is my pearl!

A symbol I choose is the doctor because it symbolizes evil. This chapter talks about how kino found the pearl and is turning greedy because of the riches. Saying he's gonna buy new stuff like new weapons. If you suddenly got a lot of money, what do you think you will be like?

In the pearl kino found the pearl which represents happiness because with the pearl kino can afford the things his family needs and wants and he can pay for his son to go to school. It also represents evil at the same time because it made kino greedy and its bringing bad luck and to his family.

the symbol i choose is the pearl and it represents richness and wealth because in the book kino had found the pearl and became rich. He said that he would get married now that he could. And was getting greedy too.

the symbol that is emerging is the pearl. Like at first when kino found the pearl the thing that came to his mind is a better life for his family. But it also symbolizes greed. Now kino only cares about the pearl he really doesn't care that much for his family like he used to.

A symbol that is emerging is the pearl because "when do you think you can pay this bill" "when I have sold my pearl i will pay you" the pearl symbolizes relief because now he wont have to worry about his bill.
