What is true happiness. True happiness is a life free of greed, fear, sin, poverty, and death. According to John Steinbeck true happiness is a product of being free of worry, fear, and major concerns just like in the Pearl before Kino found the Pearl of the world and before Coyoito was stung by the scorpion in the time before either of those problems Kino displayed happiness. Are you constantly concerned.

What is true happiness. According to John Steinbeck true happiness is a product of being free of worry, money, fear, and major concerns. Like and for example in the book The Pearl pg(1-4) Kino and his family were happy he had no current concerns and had nothing to worry about. Changes that took away Kino and his family's happiness in the book were things like money, greed, the scorpion, and other dramatic changes like on pg(37) someone attempted to steal Kinos new found wealth or when Coyoito was stung on pg(5). But throughout the story the only times I have seen true happiness presented on the first few pages and after the finding of the Pearl on pg(21-26). This evidence reveals that true happiness is the forever changing product of being free of trouble and worry or having every decision become a very possible reality With a great outcome. Does true happiness always end well?

true happiness isn't all about money or being rich or wealthy it's about family and friends and sometimes not even that, you don't buy true happiness, you make it. What makes you happy about your life

True happiness is the people surrounding you. Like your family, the people who care for you make you the happiest you have ever been. They keep you going, they Help you through tough times. Just like Juana helped kino realize the Pearl was bad, and Coyotito helped change his perspective as well.

In the pearl John Steinbeck says true happiness is not about money but about those people in our life's that make us happy! Money is just greed and brings evil into our lives! In The Pearl on page (38) it says " this thing is evil she cried harshly. This Pearl is like a sin it will destroy us. Throw it away kino, let us throw is back or break it between the rocks"! This evidence shows that the Pearl brought bitterness to kino and his family! Junna says to kino throw it back its just causing us to be greedy! Jenna is saying that's it's not bringing us happiness but instead bitterness! John Steinbeck is saying that money brings greed and evil and can destroy you if you are not wise about it! What is true happiness to you??

I had to redo my post:
According to John Steinbeck, who wrote the pearl, true happiness is not having money in your life to complicate everything. True happiness is spending time with family or friends, to not fight with everyone, and to be honest. True happiness is something that holds people and yourself together in bad or good situations. In the pearl, kino's wife had to step into his problem and he ended up hurting her but what he doesn't know is that he also hurt himself in this situation. Money doesn't help happiness and kino didn't realize that until the end.

John Steinbeck, the author of The Pearl, is telling us that true happiness is having family and friends, and not that everything is about money. " Kino and Juanna came slowly down to the beach and to Kinos canoe, which was the one thing of value that he owned in the world." (14) This evidence reveals that even though Juanna and Kino did not have much, they were happy with the small things in life. What are some small things that make you happy in life?

I think that John Stienbecks view of true happiness is different from others, in a way John Stienbeck makes true happiness seem like money and wealth are the total opposite of happiness and that is actually getting rid of the stuff that brings wealth and just being able to be with your family. In the book it says "In Kino's ears the Song of the Family was as fierce as a cry." also "And Kino drew back arm and flung the pearl with all his might. Kino and Juana watched it go, winking and glimmering under the setting sun. They saw the little splash in the distance, and they stood side by side watching the place for a long time" This evidence shows that family is more important than a house or a boat or even some pearl thats worth thousands of dollars and thats what we should always think because one thing is for sure and that's that family can't and will never run out or leave you there sad and helpless and that's what money does itt keeps you happy for a short amount of time then once you run out of it your sad and poor and in debt and family can't do that to you they can only bring you happiness, with the exception of anger, but besides that family does mean true happiness and thats what John Stienbeck is trying to show you throught the pearl is that family will never leave your side and in the end will always bring you happiness. What do you think John Stienbecks view of true happiness is?

According to John Steinbeck, who wrote The Pearl, true happines is family " He felt someone pulling his shirt and he turned and looked into Juana's eyes. When Kino looked away, he felt strong again." (35-36). This evidence reveals that kino fiels more stronger and braver when he is around his wife. Do you think family is happiness or do you think it's something else.

In the pearl true happiness is like family comes first. In the text it shows "Kino lifted up his arm and threw the pearl as far as he could". That shows that kino threw the pearl into the sea so that he can have true happiness because he realized he wasn't really happy when he had the pearl and he also realized all the terrible things he did to people and his family because he was so obsessed with the pearl. In order for Kino to have true happiness he knew he had to get the pearl out of his life forever so he can have that happiness he was looking for. What do u think true happiness is?

In the Pearl true happiness is, being with your family and being at home spending time with your family textual evidence is, "kino heard Juana take coyotito out of his hanging box.juana washed the baby and pulled her shawl round him. She held coyotito close and fed him. Kino could hear these things without looking at them. Juana was singing an old song. She sang the song in many different ways. The song comforted kino. The song comforted coyotito too"(2). Also in the Pearl true happiness is when they finally through out the pearl because so many bad things had happened to kino and his family such as their house started on fire, kinks boat got a hole in it, people broke into his house and much more textual evidence for when they threw the Pearl out is, "kino lifted up his arm and threw the pearl as afar as he could. Kino and Juana watched the pearl shining in the evening sun. They saw the pearl drop into the sea"(69). Can money make you happy?

According to the author John Steinbeck, who wrote the Pearl, true happiness does not happen when you have lots of money or when you have more power than others. It comes when you spend time with your family and friends and you help each other.

John Steinbeck is trying to say in the book The Pearl that money doesn't always make you happy like with Kino and his family in the book they didnt like fighting over the money or being in danger over the pearl like in the book when it says “ (1): But their lives had changed since they found the pearl. Bad things had happened. And now Kino had killed a man. Now Kino and Juana could do nothing except runaway.” “(44). the evidence is saying that their lives had changed since they found the pearl in a bad way since KIno had killed a man and Kino was hurt also. Would you do this over money?

According to John Steinbeck, who wrote the pearl true happiness is not all about money and wealth. In the text it shows how once the pearl was starting to be talked about more, bad things started to happen like kinos house started on fire, his canoe got a whole in it, and his kid died, he had to kill someone because people tried stealing the pearl , "kino touched the pearl felt the knife around his neck", "The man wanted the pearl, that pearl is bad kino." That's why the man broke into kinos house. "Kino saw coyotito laying in the cave with blood on his head, and the pearl looked bad and ugly. Those things are all examples of why the pearl is bad and wealth and money doesn't give you happiness. It seems to me kino and his son were happy before that all happened. I mean even though coyotito got stung by the scorpion him and his dad were happy. They had a house each other and everything, but now once the pearl came and its wealth came all it brought was danger, sadness, and anger if you look at all the events that happened when they had the pearl.
What do you think true happiness is ?

I think that John Steinbeck thinks true happiness is family. According to the book, "Kino stood perfectly still. He could hear Juana whispering the old magic again, and he could hear the evil music of the enemy. He could not move until the scorpion moved, and it felt for the source of the death that was coming to it. Kino's hand went forward very slowly, very smoothly. The thorned tail jerked upright. And at that moment the laughing of Coyotitio shook th rope and the Scoprion fell" (5). The text reveals that he would risk his own life to save his families'. What do you think he wants us to think true happiness is?

According to John Steinbeck the person who wrote the pearl, what I think he would say if I told him the question, (true happiness is) I believe he would say that true happiness is having a family who supports him and loves him . Why I believe this is because I found evidence/text in the book that proves this ( " kino sat by the fire and ate hot corncake. " he only had corncake and milk for breakfast. " when kino had finished eating Juana came back to the fire, she ate breakfast too. " kino and Juana were both happy") ( 3). The reason I think this is true happiness is because kino and Juana were both happy eating breakfast together and being a happy family even without money and to me that's true happiness just being with your family and being happy. Even though I will know John steinbecks answer for true happiness I think we all can agree that true happiness is having a family who loves you and supports you.

According to John Steinbeck, who wrote The Pearl, true happiness is not about how much money you have you cant be happy without love, peace, and family. Some evidence that supports my idea is" For it said humans are never satisfied..."(25). This evidence reveals that humans can never be satisfied no matter what especially if they have money they become greedy with things and less satisfied with more things they have and get. Also the text shows" "Who do you fear?"Kino searched for a true answer, and at last he said"Everyone."And he could feel the shell of hardness drawing over him."(36). This evidence reveals that with money you become paranoid and start suspecting everyone for a thief os someone who wants you wealth with that you start loosing friends, family and everyone you love to money. What do you think John Steinbeck meant by true happiness?

I think that the author of the pearl; John Steinbeck thinks true happiness is all about love and family. A scene in the book to represent this is " .. He could not move until the scorpion moved, and it fell for the source of the death that was coming to it. Kino's hand went forward very slowly, very smoothly. The thorned tail jerked upright. And at that moment the laughing of coyotitio shook the rope and the scorpion fell". In that scene it showed that kino was risking his life just for the ones he loves. What do you think he wants us to know and think about "True Happiness"?

The true Happines.
"The doctor sat on the bed in his room. He was wearing a dressing grown made of red silk. The dressing grown came from paris. He was drinking hot chocolate from an espensive cup. The doctor held the cup gently between his fingers. The doctor was fat and he did not look happy"(8).
Algunas personas de una clase mas alta se creen superiores a los demas solo porque tienen mas dinero y segin ellos tienen mas 'poder'. A esa clase de personas solo les importa el dinero. Una evidencia del libro es:
" the doctor put his cup down slowly, then he got angry.
'Have I nothing better to do than make little Indians well?' he shouted ' I am not an animal doctor"

John Steinbeck is trying to say that money is not the answer to all your problems. True happiness is when you have family to be there for you.
When kino found the puer in the clams mouth.
“ Kino quickly pushed his knife into the shell. The shell tried too close butt Kino pushed hard
and the shell fell open. The flesh of the oyster moved then was still. Kino listed the flesh and there lay a great pearl.’’(14)
This evidence shows that when kino found the pearl he felt happy.
What does he mean in the book that kino juana are gohst.

In "The Pearl" the author is trying to tell us that happiness is something nice that happens in the life. And that your happy with your family. And that your enjoying your life with the persons you want to be. Evidence that I found was "Kino looked at his pearl, Juana looked down and covered her face with her shawl so that the neighbors could not see her (17).This evidence revals because kino is happy outside thinking about things that he could do.Like He has a happy family with a wife and a baby. And that he is happy with his family for no matter what.

In "the pearl" the author is trying to tell us what is true happiness. True happiness is having a way through life and having confident no matter what anybody says. Happiness also means that you don't care what other people say you are never putting yourself down. Some evidence that kinda relates to this " kino looked at the pearl, juan looked down and covered her face with the shawl so that the neighbors could not see her (17).

In "the pearl" the author is trying to tell us that the true happiness is the family. The family always comes first and its a present for you. In the book it says "he could see Juana making corncakes. Kino could smell the corncakes cooking too. A thin, frightrned dog came upand layed down next to kino. The morning was beatiful like every other morning " . That shows how kino loves being around their family and he has no probleam living with them. The author is trying to say that no matter what try to make your mornings beatiful.

John Steinbeck thinks that true happiness is having what you need instead of what you want. Family is one of the best things anyone can have. To share everything with someone is one of the best feelings in the world. A quote that support this statement is "And Kino drew back arm and flung the pearl with all his might. Kino and Juana watched it go, winking and glimmering under the setting sun. They saw the little splash in the distance, and they stood side by side watching the place for a long time." This proves that after all the trouble they went through that Kino and Juana were finally happy. What do you think true happiness is?
